On 7/1/8, we officially submitted our first sponsorship requests to Adobe and Texas Instruments. We explained and elaborated on COD4E’s mission statement as well as what we plan to achieve with the funds if we were to be given the money, writing detailed reports of what the funds would be spent on. We emphasized our goal in reaching out to high school students without prior experience in coding and our non-profit goals. We hope to hear back from them in a month!

On 7/1/18, we decided upon something to do at our hackathon event in the upcoming school year, called eTexathon();. We decided to work with e-textiles as our hackathon’s main project. We thought it would be a fun way to physically get participants engaged in computer science activity, and hopefully this hands-on event will encourage participants to continue their interest and pursuit in the field.
At our first planning meeting of the summer on 6/11/18, we developed our brand for COD4E by designing our website and logo. We spent numerous hours trying to design a suitable logo that would represent our organization for our hackathon event and in future missions. On our website, we also created a contact page as well as a RSVP page for our hackathon and made sure everything was easy to access from the home page. Furthermore, we tried to increase the aesthetics of our website by applying a constant color scheme across all the pages, in hopes of attracting more people to visit our website and learn more about our organization.
Hi everyone! Welcome to our website for COD4E! Our community service project, COD4E (Coding Opportunities Designated for Everyone), has officially launched! Yay!
We first created this website in June 2018 to promote the mission of our organization and keep you informed about we’re doing. We hope to spread awareness and correct misconceptions about the field of computer science. We are very excited to teach people about how computer science is meant for everyone no matter what their background in coding may be. Thank you for joining us on this journey! |
